The staff were so helpful, and getting around Tokyo was easy from here. The club lounge is the best part. The afternoon tea and evening food were a little weak, with a poor hot selection and not enough when the lounge was busy. The gym was okay, though the free weights were poor. Still, none of that spoiled our trip. Thank you.

We had a bay-view room with a great look at Rainbow Bridge, and the hotel’s location is superb. Hamamatsucho Station is only a short walk away. The bed was very soft and I slept really well. Customer service was top-notch, too.

I first stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel Tokyo Bay more than 30 years ago, when I was working next door in the South Tower. I was in and out of the hotel for almost nine months and loved it then. In 2026, I loved it even more. The rooms are large by Japanese standards, quiet, and luxurious. The views, service, and location are all exceptional. I flew into Haneda Airport, which is a “jackpot” compared with Narita for distance to Tokyo City center, then took the Monorail to Hamamatsucho Station. It’s a short distance from the hotel, and the station is on the Yamanote Line, which circles Tokyo and gets you close to most places. Walking from the station with luggage can be a bit of a challenge, but there’s now a hotel shuttle bus that runs a couple of times an hour. Check the schedule online. My reservation included the breakfast buffet on the 3rd floor and Club level snacks in the afternoon on the 20th floor. The food and service in both were outstanding. Early in my stay, I couldn’t find an English TV channel because the remote instructions were in Japanese. I took the remote to the front desk, and instead of just trying to explain how to get a couple of English channels, the employee came up with me to my room on the 24th floor and made the adjustments. I can’t say enough positive things about the hotel and staff. I highly recommend it to visitors to Tokyo.

Our time at the InterContinental Tokyo Bay had some good points, but the way checkout was handled ruined the stay for us. I’m appalled as an IHG One Rewards member, and wouldn’t recommend the hotel to anyone who expects basic respect or standard five-star hospitality. The location is near Ginza’s shopping district, though far from Shinjuku and Shibuya. Check-in was quick, and the room was a decent size. Breakfast staff were friendly and accommodating with our baby, with decent food options. Housekeeping and in-room dining were helpful, too. But service wasn’t consistent. The concierge was difficult about arranging external laundry, and while some staff warmed our baby’s food, several others repeatedly refused our requests. The room was also significantly dusty. I was willing to pay the incidental charges for breakfast, dinner, and laundry at checkout. My wife, baby, and I were rushing to catch our flight, so I asked to settle the disputed room charge later using the card on file or a secure payment link. The checkout Duty Manager responded aggressively and threatened to call the police in front of my wife and baby to force immediate payment. Being treated like a criminal over a legitimate room dispute was profoundly insulting. When I raised it, local management, Satoshi Iyoda, sanitized the incident in writing, ignored the police threat, and blamed me for the timing of the complaint. He is now gatekeeping the General Manager and senior leadership, and offered 10,000 points to make a safety and intimidation issue go away. Senior management needs to investigate this immediately.

This hotel is terrible, and feels like somewhere to stay only if someone else is paying. There’s a great view of the Bay Bridge, but no viewing area inside where you can sit quietly, read, relax, or take in the scenery. The Manhattan restaurant has a good view, but you can only get in with a reservation during its opening hours. The hotel is in a Tokyo business area, and as an IHG member I was upgraded to a city-facing room instead of one facing the waterfront. I paid for the stay with points, but was told that breakfast, lunch, and dinner weren’t included. Adding them cost a separate $105. I couldn’t adjust the room temperature and was cold most of the night. Vegans should know the hotel’s several restaurants had few or no vegan options. The food portions seemed very small to me, too, so I didn’t find it a good value.
