The washing machine came in especially handy, and the apartment had everything we needed. Getting in and out was really simple: the key was in a combination-locked mailbox, just remember to put it back when you leave. We were a little concerned about having no elevator and carrying luggage upstairs. The stairs were narrow, but manageable. It got a bit cold at night, and closing the vents didn't do much about the chilly air coming through gaps or windows. The neighborhood wasn't as nice as Asakusa, though there was a convenience store just a few meters away and a very good coffee shop about a four-minute walk.
Spacious and comfortable, and handy for getting around. Ikebukuro station has good connections to destinations across Tokyo and beyond. I'd recommend it, especially with the lively neighborhood nearby.
The room is large for the price, and Ikebukuro station is about 600 meters away. Just be aware that there's no elevator, and the stairs are only wide enough for one person. Getting luggage up to the fifth floor is a chore. Near the first floor there was a distinct grassy animal-droppings smell, like goat or rabbit poop. Given how affordable it was, I can't really argue with the price.
Watch your head on the inner door, it's low enough that I almost hit it 😂
