My stay at Kaio Presso Inn Kanda was distressing, and I can't recommend it. On arrival, I was told only a smoking room was available, although I had booked a non-smoking room. When I objected, staff first said I'd have to spend at least one of my two nights in the smoking room. Later that evening they told me a non-smoking room could be provided after all. The back and forth was stressful and made me feel unwelcome. On the first night my back and legs started itching and turning red. By the second night I had severe rashes and pustules across much of my body. Around 4 a.m., I discovered bed bugs in the room. I couldn't sleep, checked out early, and reported it to reception. The staff weren't helpful or empathetic and didn't apologize. They said I should have reported the problem after the first night, though at the time I had no way to know what was causing the symptoms. The poor service and serious hygiene problems made this stay unacceptable. I strongly advise guests to avoid Kaio Presso Inn until its cleanliness and customer service improve significantly.

For a solo stay in Tokyo, the Single Room at Keio Presso Inn Kanda was clean, safe, and very convenient. It's compact, as you'd expect here, but the layout makes good use of the space. There was a comfortable single bed, small desk, and mini fridge, plus a spotless, functional modular bathroom. I appreciated the humidifier and the phone charger built into the bedside area, especially after a long day out. Just a few minutes on foot from Kanda Station, with access to both JR and metro lines. Cafes and convenience stores are close by, and Tokyo Station is one stop away.

The location is very good, and the breakfast is decent by business hotel standards, though vegetarian choices are limited. It's a business hotel, so the rooms are very small, which is common in Tokyo. They clean the room once every three days.

This was my first trip abroad, and I stayed at this hotel. The rooms were clean and the maids cleaned them every day. Thank you for the hospitality and for a wonderful 10 days in Japan. I hope we meet again someday!
