The beds aren't the most comfortable capsules I've slept in, though in Tokyo you get what you pay for. After leaving, I realized my bed had bed bugs. Keep that in mind with shared accommodation, whatever the price. Another drawback is the lack of proper luggage storage, which is a problem if you arrive before check-in or need to leave bags after checking out. I understand the space is limited, but it's something to address in future. Booking through a third-party site was easy and I got confirmation straight away. Check-in was simple, and staff could speak basic English. There is a ground-floor lounge for relaxing, using a phone, or working on a laptop, plus an elevator serving all floors. Dorms include male, female, and mixed options. The public bathing areas are separate for men and women. They have showers, baths, mirrors and sinks for washing and grooming, along with a place to store personal belongings. The communal baths are cleaned every morning and around lunchtime, and are open for most of the day and evening. Amenities cost extra and can be bought at reception, which is open 24/7. The hostel is fairly easy to find, near Asakusa station and Senso-ji temple, and surrounded by shops, restaurants, and other sights. It's tucked away from the main road, so you avoid the crowds passing through busy parts of Asakusa.

For around $25 a night, it was a decent stay and I'd recommend it to anyone on a tight budget who's fine with public baths. I found the capsules cramped and not very comfortable. There's no private shower stool, just a traditional Japanese grand bath where you have to go in fully naked. The location is great, only a minute from asakusa station and sensoji temple. It's not the worst hostel I've stayed at in Japan, but it's not the best either.

The main practical issue was the luggage situation. There isn't proper storage, and most guests left their bags in front of their beds. It felt like someone could take another person's things, so I worried about my bag the whole stay, even though nothing happened. A hotel should give guests somewhere safe to keep their belongings. I'd set aside even a whole floor for luggage storage so people could relax. This needs to improve. Noise was another problem for me: the soundproofing is basically nonexistent. Someone near me snored loudly, and other guests packed early in the morning. I slept badly all three nights, though you might have a different time if you happen to be near quiet guests. The reasonable price and closeness to Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa are probably the two main reasons to stay here. If you want somewhere affordable near the temple, it could be a good option. There was also a small public bath and sauna, a nice surprise at this price. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap are provided. Towels, razors, toothbrushes, and lotion cost extra, but the prices are fairly reasonable.

The staff were helpful and spoke English, so communication was easy. I stayed 18 nights, and this was easily the best capsule hotel or hostel I've tried in Tokyo, Japan. It's close to three subway stations, with a five-minute walk to the Asakusa, Oedo, and Ginza lines. Sinsoji Temple and the shopping streets are nearby, as is Tokyo Skytree, and Euno/Ameyoko shopping street is a 25-minute walk away. I liked the sauna and hot spring pool, as well as the shared showers, private toilets, laundry area, lounge, and dining space. I do wish the kitchen were bigger, with somewhere for guests to keep utensils and other things. For security, each guest should have an individual locker for valuables. The entrance door opens automatically when someone tries to come in, so they should also keep the front door security code active 24/7, instead of only after midnight, to make sure only checked-in guests can enter. I'd definitely recommend this place and would stay again on my next Tokyo trip in 2027.

The location is amazing. I found the staff distant compared with the other six hostels I've stayed at in Taito City, and the service was mediocre. I would have liked a warmer welcome. The shared public bathtub was nice, but some of the provided facilities, like the toilets, could be better. No towels were provided, and there were no shoes.
