Hotel MyStays Nippori

After a trip of more than 13 hours from Dubai with a stop in Qatar, I wanted the cheapest train from Narita into Tokyo, so I took the Keisei main line rather than the skyliner and got off at Nippori. The hotel is about a seven-minute walk from the station, which was probably its biggest plus. I paid 8,090 yen for the night. That isn’t expensive, but it isn’t pennies either. The room was clean, and I liked the little amenities like shampoo and face wash. I didn’t like having to buy water from the indoor vending machine because there wasn’t even one or two small bottles in the room. The staff weren’t always at the desk, which seemed odd when I wanted help using the laundry room. All in all, a B- stay.

Nippori station is a short walk away, and from there you can get anywhere in Tokyo within 30 minutes. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. It’s a good budget-friendly hotel, but the rooms are very small. If you’re over 6ft, it’ll feel cramped.

Our ground-floor room was a bit noisy. You could hear people coming and going and sorting their luggage, though we were so tired after a long day that we still slept well, haha. The duvet cover had some stains, but everything else was clean, and the staff were attentive and helpful. It’s a nice hotel, conveniently located about a six-minute walk from Nippori station.

I wish I’d booked more nights. My room was cozy, comfortable, quiet, and affordable, and Nippori station is close by. There’s plenty of character in the area and lots of food to choose from. I enjoyed an early morning walk to find a cafe and came across a few. I’d definitely recommend it as a home base for travelers.
