I chose this place because the room looked cute, but I found a bed bug on the wall before I’d even sat on the bed. In 11 years living in Japan, that’s never happened to me before. The staff member who came to kill it just said there probably weren’t any more and didn’t check the bed with me. The desk offered to move me, while another staff member casually said it was bed bug season. I didn’t feel they were concerned, and they wouldn’t refund me, so I checked out anyway. I teach in Tokyo, earn a local salary, and live in a rural prefecture, so I stay in town two nights a week to avoid burning out. Paying for two rooms in one night really hurt. Losing me means losing repeat business.

The front desk guy was nice, and I had no problems here. The room is small, but there’s enough space to move around, and it was clean. For the price, it’s pretty good, especially with the train station and places like 7-Eleven nearby. ☺️😊

We booked Hotel Harmony at the last minute for one night. It’s in a quiet, safe area near Nippori station, and there’s a little coffee shop beside the entrance that opens in the daytime. Our economy double was clean, with its own bathroom, a small fridge under the desk, and a bath set with a toothbrush and toothpaste. It’s also a love hotel, so you can book a room for just a few hours.

I loved how close this hotel is to Nippori Station. My room didn’t have a bathtub, but that was fine with me. Part of me wants to keep this place to myself, though it deserves to be recognized!

Tourists, please skip this place. The sheets had pee stains when I arrived, and the replacement room they gave me was just as dirty, even after the staff had cleaned it.
