Service was great. Rooms are only cleaned every three days, but towels are changed daily. The rooms are tiny, and with two people, two large suitcases kept closed, and two carry-ons, the space fills up fast. But in Tokyo, you really only need a room for sleeping and a quick midday rest. The bathrooms are tiny too, though you could brush your teeth, use the toilet, and wash your hair all at once if you wanted. A 3-4 day stay is manageable if you’re not claustrophobic.

Very clean, with a big, comfy bed and nice facilities. The amenities are better quality than usual. My room was small at 11 sq.m., which seems normal for a business hotel. I only had a backpack, so it was fine, but large suitcases could be a struggle. Check the room size carefully.

A quiet place with a small but clean, well-equipped room. You can walk to Ueno, Ameyoko market, and the city center. There’s a small restaurant in the hotel that stays open until late evening, and some small restaurants nearby, along with Family mart and 7-Eleven.

For the price, having a full-size bed this close to Akihabara is great. It’s about a five-minute walk to the main street, and two other train stations are around 5-10 minutes away. The staff were great too. Some speak English and some don’t, but I could still get the help I needed, especially with a phone handy. A great little hotel.

I stayed in three cities in Japan, and each time I ended up at an APA Hotel. The lobbies are really stylish, the staff are friendly, and the facilities are great. Rooms get cleaned regularly, and the locations were very good. The laundry room is small, but there’s a nearby laundry that’s open 24 hours. If I come back to Japan, I’d choose APA Hotels again.
