We stayed for about a week. The meals were nice, though nothing fancy, and the onsen was really hot and enjoyable, but often very busy. The wifi was terrible, with almost no connection in the room. Having to set up the futon ourselves every time also became a nuisance. It was a pleasant stay overall, but those problems took away from it.

The meals were fresh and delicious, and the chef really did a great job. We only stayed a couple of nights, but found the hotel very accommodating. The onsen and larger pool were relaxing. I just wish the pool had looked out over the river.

The room did have a river and mountain view, but that couldn't make up for the rest of the stay. The building and onsen felt dated, and there wasn't any scenic view from the onsen. Breakfast cost extra and was disappointing, with basic Japanese dishes and very little protein. WiFi kept cutting out, dining nearby was poor, and there wasn't much else around in the prefecture. For what the room cost, the experience didn't feel worth it.

Our room looked out toward Mitake Gorge, which made the stay feel peaceful and beautiful. The place isn't especially new or stylish, and the onsen view from inside wasn't much, but everything was well looked after. The concierge and staff were really friendly, and the price was great for a night with dinner, breakfast, and a two-hour karaoke session, about ¥25,000 per person. We came to visit Sawanoi Sake Brewery and the gorge nearby, and had a lovely weekend with sake, the onsen, nature, and friends. Thanks for having us.

The hotel is clean, though a bit old. The food was great and the service excellent. A nice place to get a Japanese experience.
