Su A.
The room size is just right for two, and the price is very budget friendly. The area is quiet and quaint, a fair way from the city centre, but there are lots of good places to eat at all hours. A good pick if you want space for the price.

There’s decent value here for an apartment this size with everything equipped. The nearest Metro station is a 10-minute walk away, and the nearest konbini supermarket is two minutes away. There are full-size supermarkets across from the Metro, and the ride into tokyo City takes about 30 minutes. That sounds far, but the time goes quickly. The apartment was only surface-cleaned. It didn’t look obviously dirty, but the cleaning felt rushed, and the a/c filter hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. We stayed last September. After turning on the air-conditioning to cool the place and going out to get food, we came back to a smell like wet towels left too long. The filter was packed with buildup that peeled off in big sheets. That should be checked, since it affects air quality and can cause respiratory and sinus infections. The beds were hard, though the pillows were good, and the washer worked well. The bathroom setup was strange: the bathtub isn’t plumbed, so water runs onto the floor toward the floor drain. The shower wasn’t a great experience, but it was usable. You get what you pay for here.
There are plenty of Kombini nearby, so it's easy to find what you need. The little kitchen is basic but has a fridge, microwave, rice cooker, burners, and cooking essentials. The beds are big enough, though one was uncomfortable because I could feel the springs. We fixed that by putting another blanket on top. It’s a 10-minute walk to the train station, and the big Tokyo districts take about 35-40 minutes to reach. My wife got sick during our stay, but the place was cozy and comfortable enough for her to recover. We had a good stay.
We couldn’t wait to leave. The room had useful equipment and was cheap, but we’ve stayed in cheaper and nicer places in Japan and Tokyo, so I’d look elsewhere. The bathroom had a horrible mold smell. Keeping the windows open to air it out barely helped. The couch was stained and disgusting, and the beds were just okay but dirty, with strange black gritty stuff all over the sheets. The washer ran for only about 10 minutes and didn’t work properly. It stained our clothes, and we had to throw most of them away. The location was far from central Tokyo, though we knew that when we booked. Keep it in mind: expect roughly 1 hr by metro to get to main areas like Shinjuku and Shibuya.
We had a great 5-day stay. Nishidai Station is very close, and it’s on the same line to Tokyo Dome, which was convenient. The neighborhood is quiet and the streets are easy to walk, even while dragging luggage. Nearby, there’s a large bookstore with lots of comics and books, plus several mini markets. One supermarket seems to sell everything at good prices.
