Ryokan Fuji

There’s no meal service, which is probably why the rate is a little lower than at some ryokans. That wasn’t a problem: the convenience store across the street had loads of food, and there were small restaurants and bars along the walk to the station. I spent five nights here and found it comfortable and very clean. There’s a flight of stairs to the rooms, but the owner carried my luggage up using a small lift. The owners speak English and were kind and helpful, even lending me an umbrella in the rain. I’d absolutely stay here again. ♥

We’ve only just arrived, but I’m already glad I found this family-run place. The owner welcomed us so warmly and kindly carried all our bags into the room. It was easy to find by following Google Maps. The room is beautiful and clean, and the futon is really comfortable. There’s a bathtub in the bathroom and a separate toilet in another room. Everything works well, including the air conditioning, which I like a lot. We also have a fridge, TV, kettle, wardrobe, and a cute tea set. It’s close to a train station and a 7-Eleven, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Japan on a budget. \(^u^)/

A clean, classic Japanese room in a pleasant, quiet neighborhood that’s nice to walk around. The owner is helpful, and there’s a train station about 400 meters away. I just couldn't get breakfast here.

Our private room was very clean, with a Japanese-style bidet and an onsen shower room. We stayed four nights. The air conditioning and heating remote was confusing since we can’t read Japanese, and there was a language barrier with the kind older Japanese man who helped us load our luggage into the building’s lift. We had to figure out travel tips and advice on our own. Koiwa station is nearby, as are a 7-Eleven and Don Quixote. The commute wasn’t bad, and this was a good ryokan experience for our first Tokyo visit. Just keep in mind that there’s a red-light district near the station that gets busy at night.
