Shinjuku Sky Capsule

The photos online gave us a completely wrong impression. My partner and I are low-maintenance travellers and have stayed in plenty of modest places, but this was among the worst. We lasted about ten minutes before checking out and going to an APA Hotel instead. There was a large hole in the room wall, visible dirt and stains, including what looked like blood, and old, dusty slippers. The bathroom had a used cleaning rag even though the room wasn’t clean. The nearby train was very loud, and getting to our room meant walking straight through the kitchen, which shared a wall, and the hole, with the room. I hope our experience helps others avoid the same mistake. Photos attached.

We had a clean, cozy room and bathroom, just right for our 9-day vacation. There were slippers or sandals to use, a mini fridge, and even a portable stovetop. It’s under a four-minute walk to a train station and about five minutes to convenience stores like 7-11 and family mart. My fiancé and I really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.

The staff were kind and super helpful, ready to get anything that would help our stay. I was here for 10 nights. The room was pretty bare-bones, but we only needed a place to sleep and store our things. It was clean and had the necessities: a private bath, microwave, stovetop, and storage. Be sure to book a room with a private bath if you need one. Nakai Station is a short walk away, and the area is quiet. The SS line is less busy than some others, and two stops gets you to Takadanobaba Station, where you can reach pretty much anywhere. If you need somewhere to rest your head in Tokyo, I can recommend it.

The location worked perfectly for me, close to the subway, seven eleven, and small local restaurants. My room was small but clean, and I slept really well. The staff were very helpful, and the bathrooms were spotless with lots of hot water and great pressure. I enjoyed my stay and would come back.
