The room is spacious and has the feel of a traditional Japanese home. It’s quiet, so sleep was peaceful every night, and a FamilyMart is just one or two minutes away. For the price, it’s great value, especially if you don’t mind a lot of walking and want a calm place on a budget. The nearest train stop, Iriya Station, is 1.2 km away, which made the walk there and back a lot. Room service is only available on request, and the hotel doesn’t handle luggage transfers. Carrying my bags from here to Conrad Tokyo in Minato was a long haul, particularly from Narita Airport. There are some nearby buses, but using them will cost a bit more over time.

From the outside, I thought it was a small hotel, but the room surprised me with how much it had: a kitchen, bathtub, washing machine with detergent balls, coffee maker, a roomy living area, and an air purifier. The staff were friendly and spoke fluent English, so there’s no need to worry if you don’t speak Japanese.

The room was huge and clean, with WiFi and a bathtub. It felt more like a homestay, and staff are reached by calling, so they aren’t always around. There’s a coffee maker, kitchen, fridge, and washing machine. It’s about a ten-minute walk from the nearest train station, though bus 46 from the Ueno area can get you there. Sensoji Temple is around a 20-minute walk away.

The room seems pretty big and clean so far, and the price is good. But I think someone upstairs was smoking, because the whole building stank. Gross.
