SWEETS HOTEL MACHIDA -Adult Only-

The staff were missing when we needed them, including at 10am when we were trying to leave. We had to call to get the doors opened, even though we'd paid in advance through a travel site. Earlier, someone came after two calls, picked a random room, and said we could pay at checkout, apparently the only way out. It was hard to get a taxi to the train station too, and with nobody around to help, we couldn't hail one normally from this far-out location. The Pirate Hotel next door was kind and helpful, with staff present and cleaning underway. We clearly chose the wrong place. The room was reached by narrow, low-ceiling stairs, difficult even without luggage. At night the BGM and the animated tree squeaked constantly, so sleep seemed unlikely. Inside, it was messy, dusty, and smelled like cigarettes, though it might have been illegal herbs. The sheets were unclean, and both my friend and I got bedbug bites that still haven't gone away. We booked for the unusual look and photo opportunities, not realizing it was a love hotel. There was also a big rack of costumes with seams coming apart. If that's what you're after, find somewhere with cleaner things. I really couldn't recommend this hotel less.
