Tabist Hotel Florida Ikebukuro

The location is great, close to a laundromat, coffee shop and convenience stores. But space is extremely tight, so I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for groups or anyone traveling with large suitcases.

It’s a tiny room with basically a bed, toilet and shower. Still, it’s a good location for an affordable Tokyo stay, a cheap base to crash between all the city’s chaos. The hotel won’t win awards for the amenities or room quality. The mattress was pretty hard, and the pillows were small and could use improvement. I’m 6ft 4, and had to sit on the toilet with my knees spread fully.

There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and the metro station is close.

The neighborhood is handy for shopping and meals, there’s a laundromat just around the corner, and it’s a pleasant area for an evening walk. The metro is nearby too. The room is extremely small: it fits a double bed, toilet and shower, with only about two square meters left over. That doesn’t leave much space for luggage, which can be awkward if you have a lot. Rooms aren’t cleaned during the stay, and guests are expected to take out their own trash, though that wasn’t really a problem for me.
