I stayed one night. The only downside was that parking the motorcycle cost JPY1000. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet.

We had a relaxing stay and would definitely come back. Our family of five stayed in a spacious, comfortable room on the 8th floor, about the size of two 8-tatami mat rooms. We didn’t include meals. The station is close by, and there’s a Family Mart to the right and a Lawson to the left as you leave the hotel. The drawbacks were that the only microwave was in the first-floor lobby, which was inconvenient, and the bath shower pressure was weak.

The only disappointment this time was the smelly shower curtain, so I took off one point. Around 9pm I went to the front desk to ask about using the coin laundry, and the clerk was at the counter. In many hotels, staff are tucked away in the back office and the desk is unattended. The rooms are spacious enough, which makes sense given the hotel’s history. I stayed at Tachikawa Hotel, though there is a T/I on the way and I didn’t even look at it. Before booking sites existed, I picked this place from a business hotel guidebook and found on arrival that it was a love hotel. Around 1995, the love hotel interior was completely removed and it was remodeled as a business hotel. It went from 38 rooms to more than 50, but the rooms are still roomy. Personally, I wish they’d kept the old interior. You can’t hear noise from the next room, the bathroom and toilet are separate, and the bathtub was big enough to swim in. The smoke masks and evacuation ropes are leftovers from its love hotel days. I’ve posted this here because writing "love hotel" in a review with a cat mark gets censored and deleted.

The price felt reasonable for Tokyo, and I was impressed by how much room there was in both the bedroom and bathroom. It was a little walk from the station. Even the tissues were soft and made in Japan. Thanks for your help.

I came back for a second stay. The room had plenty of space, with a desk and little shelf that made it easy to sort out my bags. There’s a convenience store close by, and the hotel is about a five-minute walk from the station, in a spot I found easy to locate. I checked in at night and the woman who helped me was very friendly and smiling, even though her Japanese was a bit broken. (*^^*)
