We hesitated to book after reading the bad reviews, but the hotel turned out to be very nice. Check-in was easy, the room was clean, and there were plenty of amenities. The layout is a little odd, but for such a low price, we can definitely recommend it.

The room itself had visible stains and hadn’t been cleaned well. It also had a hard bed, no door guard, and a shower, though the toilet seemed to be shared. I was told I could leave without handing my key to reception. The bigger problem started with the booking. I’d reserved through a booking site, but the hotel said it had no record of it. They offered another room for extra money, which made no sense to me when I’d already paid. Only after I showed my confirmation and receipt did they begin getting a room ready. I can’t tell whether the site or the hotel caused the mix-up, but the foreign staff member helping me never apologized. I wouldn’t stay here again.

I normally don’t post reviews, but I’m doing it so someone else doesn’t end up in the same situation. I booked through Booking.com, and the hotel’s customer service was unresponsive. I was also told a refund couldn’t be made there, even though Booking.com’s policy says about half the price should be refunded. In the end, they refused to refund me because they had shown me a room, then got angry with me. I won’t stay there or use Booking.com again. There aren’t many hotels in Kichijoji, but this place didn’t feel like a normal business hotel. It felt like an upgraded love hotel, and worse than a women-only capsule hotel. The interior had that same feel, luggage was stacked on the stairs, and my room door was right by what looked like a front desk. The lock seemed frighteningly flimsy, like a man could break through the door easily. They said I could come and go at any hour, which scared me enough that I couldn’t stay. I don’t understand how it can be listed as a business hotel. Quality varies a lot among business hotels, but even at the very bottom, this one should be avoided. Women especially should stay away.

They didn’t have enough cash to give me my refund, so they made me accept payment through PayPay. The service was slow, and while someone was talking right in front of me, they said there was hair on the floor and the place was so dirty it couldn’t be used. It really was filthy. The bed they described as a double seemed smaller than a semi-double. I can’t believe this is allowed to operate as lodging. It’s the worst place, barely a hotel at all, and I’ll never use it again.
