The location is the one plus: it’s central to Tokyo and close to Oshiage station. Inside, there’s a strong sewer smell in both the living and sleeping areas, and the wifi is hard to get. Garbage is piled at the entrance and on most apartment landings, which seems like a fire hazard. The building has five levels. I’d skip this place.

Very clean, and a good place to stay.

We liked this Level 4 two-bedroom apartment so much on our first Tokyo trip that we booked it again when we came back. It was a great choice. The four of us found it clean and roomy, with everything we needed to feel at home. I’d definitely recommend it to families looking for a comfortable stay.

The location made getting around really easy, and the apartment had nearly everything we needed. It’s small, but thoughtfully laid out, with a proper bathroom behind a lovely blue door, balconies at both ends, and a cozy Japanese-style tatami room. Three of us fit just right. There’s no gas cooking setup, though we didn’t need one. The top-floor 501 felt especially Japanese, and the elevator in a five-story building was something I envy for my own home. We arrived in Tokyo early, and the staff let us leave our bags while they finished cleaning. We kept valuables with us, of course. We had four oversized suitcases, and that evening a very nice housekeeper who spoke Mandarin even brought them into our room. I’d read that there might be a strong drain smell, and there was some, around the washer and sink area. Closing that door took care of it, and it didn’t affect our comfort. Over our four nights and five days, we felt two earthquakes. As Taiwanese people, we were pretty unfazed, haha. Daikokuyu is only a five-minute walk away, which was perfect after all the walking when our feet were nearly done for. I was surprised to find that public bath so close when I looked it up. I don’t know what the other floors are like, but 501 made for a full-on Japanese-style stay. It’s going on my Tokyo list, and I’d come back. I have so much to share, this place gets a wholehearted recommendation.
