We spent four nights at Peninsula Tokyo, our first stop in Japan, and even the most basic room we booked felt luxurious and extremely spacious. The rooms and common areas are beautifully decorated, and everything was impeccable. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and although it's a nicer hotel, it never felt uptight or pretentious. It was kid-friendly too. The swimming pool was a wonderful bonus while the typhoon was on, and the in-house restaurants were excellent, especially Hei Fung Terrance. I can't think of anything the hotel could improve. It made for a perfect start to our trip.

My first stay at a Peninsula was such a pleasure that now I just want to stay at more of them. The rooms are beautiful, and the staff were professional and helpful. The service was above and beyond. Even when they made mistakes, they fixed them perfectly. A few things didn't work for me. Peter is overrated. Mon Cher had much better food and service. Peter is good for the view, and that's about it. Breakfast in the lobby felt weird: such a beautiful entrance, filled with people eating. The breakfast itself was just OK and not worth it. My TV stopped working on the second night, and my mom's room had some lighting problems a few nights before we left. They fixed those fairly quickly, which was nice, but there wasn't a “sorry for this,” a gift or anything. Still, it was a perfect stay overall.

The room on the 23rd floor was huge, spotless, and had an amazing view. Everyone made our three-night stay easy from the moment we came through the front door, and the staff were warm and polite throughout. We enjoyed breakfast at The Lobby on our first morning. My wife is vegetarian, and when the options there were limited, a gentleman from the restaurant suggested Hei Fung Terrace. That meal was fantastic, and Sarah was such a sweet, lovely server. The bar team also remembered us each of the three nights we stopped in. On our last evening, we had another great meal and experience at Hibiya Mon Cher Ton Ton. A wonderful place for our last few days in Japan. We’d happily return.

The pool and spa were a peaceful way to recover after a long flight, and the spa treatments were world-class. The rooms are impressively roomy for Tokyo, with thoughtful touches like a built-in nail dryer and deep soaking tubs. The Peninsula Tokyo also has a hard-to-beat spot across from the Imperial Palace and close to Ginza. What stood out most, though, was the intuitive, polished service. I’ve stayed at luxury hotels around the world, and this one feels in a class of its own. A blend of Japanese hospitality and modern luxury that felt worth the price.

I’d come back without hesitation. The staff remember your name and greet you personally, while staying attentive without hovering. That made the place feel genuinely welcoming as well as luxurious. The rooms are beautifully kept, the facilities are top-notch, and the steam room and sauna were great after a long day. There’s thoughtful care throughout, plus contemporary art just outside the lift lobbies. One of the finest hotels I’ve stayed in, with service that was excellent from arrival.
