Tokyo Kakan

My family and I were here for around a week, and I thought it was very affordable for the location. Having a kitchen with a stove, microwave, refrigerator, and washing machine was so useful. There was a rooftop with a view of Tokyo Tower, too, where we could hang laundry. I'd stay here again if I return to Tokyo.

For my first stay in this kind of shared house, it was a good experience. The rooms are on different floors of one building, and while each room is private, the bathroom and sink are shared. The hot water worked really well and got very hot. The host also left me with the impression of being very kind.

The room felt more like an Airbnb than a hotel, and it was generally clean. If all you need is somewhere to sleep at night, it's perfectly fine. In Minato Ward, this may be the best value for money. Roppongi and Tokyo Tower are walkable, with a convenience store and supermarket nearby. The room also has a refrigerator, kitchen, and microwave. The manager was cheerful and kind, and shared lots of sightseeing recommendations.

We were eight family members staying for a week, and the host was consistently friendly and attentive to what we needed. The apartment on the second floor had four bedrooms, a kitchen, two bathrooms, and a laundry area. For Minato, the price was extremely good. The rooftop view was incredible at any time of day. A couple of drawbacks: the beds were a little hard, and anyone sensitive to smells might be bothered by the fishy odor from the river behind the apartment.
