Tokyu Stay Gotanda

It's a few minutes' walk from JR Line Gotenda station. Our room was spacious, apartment-like, and had a window view, with the essentials including laundry, a microwave, and a small sink for washing dishes, plus the usual amenities. There's a 7-11 next door and FamilyMart across the street. The receptionists speak and understand English, which is helpful for tourists.

The room was small, though the bed was fine, and having a washer-dryer, microwave, and kettle in the room was really handy. The hotel keeps cleaning to a minimum unless you ask. There are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, with Don Quijote just around the corner. JR Gotanda is about a 10-minute walk, and the “A” train line exit is right outside. I’d booked breakfast, but at check-in they said the café no longer offered it, so they gave me gift cards to use at any Lawson or Family Mart.

We were very happy with the larger, more comfortable room we ended up choosing, even though it cost a little extra. Nagano helped us switch from the room we had booked and paid for through booking.com. We used a translation app to communicate, and he kindly showed us a couple of other room options in person. The hotel is in a very convenient spot, close to the station, restaurants, malls, 7-Eleven, Lawson, and Donki. Each room has a washing machine that can dry clothes too, though we didn't try it ourselves. Friends staying in a different room type did. Room service is limited. We could still ask for fresh towels and trash removal each day without staff coming into the room, which suited us because we didn't have to pack our things away whenever we went out. There's an American breakfast at “Gotta,” about a three-minute walk away, for an extra charge. If we come back to Tokyo and can get the same room, we'd stay here again.

It’s directly in front of the Asuka line, with the JR line also within walking distance. They don’t clean daily, but you can ask for fresh towels each day. I’d choose this hotel again.
