Hotel Villa Fontaine Tokyo - Nihombashi Mitsukoshimae

Quiet neighborhood, and handy for several subway stations. The Twin Room was extremely small, even by Tokyo standards.

We needed somewhere close to Shinkansen Tokyo before catching an early train to Osaka. The location worked well, and the service was impeccable. Our room was quaint but had everything we needed. It was affordable too, with some great restaurants close by.

I found this a great deal, especially if you don't want to pay a premium price like Hyatt. I don't understand why some people rate it so low. My experience was 10/10. The staff were very helpful and eager to assist. The location worked well for me as someone who mostly travels by train. The nearest subway and bus stations are within about a 500m walking radius, and with Tokyo's public transport, you're not far from anywhere. My room was clean and decent for the price, with very good amenities. They even provided unlimited free beauty products from a famous Japanese brand, and daily cleaning is available if you request it. The in-room Wi-Fi 6 was very fast, at a consistent 60MB/s during my stay. Breakfast costs extra, but I thought it was worth it. During my stay they served Japanese curry for ¥900, with unlimited servings. That's cheaper than breakfast at many restaurants or cafes, where a meal can easily exceed ¥1000.

The room was the tiniest of all the hotels we stayed at, and there was no space for our bags, even though we only had carry-ons. The hotel itself was nice and quiet, with clean facilities, good amenities, and a very efficient check-in. Getting around was less convenient than I'd hoped: it took 20 minutes to walk to Tokyo Station or 10 minutes to the nearest metro. The location wasn't ideal for us, and the room felt too small.
