YAWP! backpackers - Hostel

The owner was rude and argumentative, and kept finding reasons to micromanage guests. The place was a dump, nothing like the photos I saw when booking. To make matters worse, he insisted on sleeping in the hostel room too, then shushed me in the morning when I got up to leave. The location was awful, and everything else about the place was too. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

The owner was kind and introduced us to places worth visiting, but the place he rents out was absolutely disgusting. The rest of the stay was a disaster. The hostel was basically a huge mess. The bins were piled so high they might have rivaled Mount Fuji, though I'm not sure which won. The owner seemed obsessed with making guests tidy their things and clean the bathroom, which I guess saves him some work. The capsule beds are open at the back, so you can fall asleep looking right at your neighbor's face. The sinks were white under black dry soap. There was no privacy inside or outside, and the owner would tell you not to call. There was soap in the bathroom, including an empty bottle left behind by the previous guest, a sweet little reminder. You could also use plenty of things in the kitchen, if you could make your way around the trash. I booked four nights and stayed one. That's all I'll say. The photos speak for themselves. Bye! 🫡

One person manages the place, where 12 bunk beds are squeezed into a single room with barely any space to walk or store luggage. It felt more like a refugee camp than a hostel. The owner was rude, controlling, and belittling, with very strict rules. The common area shuts at midnight, and afterward you can't sit there, cook, or do anything. During my six-night stay, the owner came by almost every night to ask things like, “Did you wet the bathroom floor?”, “Why is the shower wet?”, or “It’s late, go to bed.” The kitchen space is very limited too. I'd recommend looking for a better hostel closer to the city center. You could spend the same amount on public transport and stay somewhere better. I definitely don't recommend this place. My friend and I didn't argue with the owner, but I'm sure he's reading this.

It's filthy and completely disorganized. Am I in a slum or a hotel? You can usually tell a lot about the owner from how they keep things. Great job!
