Comfort Hotel Tomakomai

I was here in December 2025, and it was the most terrifying experience of my life. Please be honest and help others avoid the horrible experience I went through.

For the price, the room was decent. It was small and a little dated, which didn’t bother us, and generally clean by Japanese business hotel standards. Parking is quite limited, though.

Breakfast was simple but enough, with bread, rice, scrambled eggs, potato salad, yoghurt, cereal, and a few other options. There’s free parking right beside the building, though it was full by sunset. The staff were very friendly and smiling. They didn’t speak much English, but they tried their best. The room wasn’t very big, and the air conditioning is controlled centrally by the building, so you can’t switch it from heat to cool.

The breakfast buffet was great, and the rooms were clean with all the amenities included. Everything was explained in English as well. My boss chose this hotel for my business trip to Tomokomai. The front desk staff spoke little English but were friendly and polite, and check-in was quick. The hotel’s parking was full when we arrived, so they had us use a public lot and covered the ticket. We also got 2,000 yen in food vouchers, which I believe are only issued to Hokkaido residents.
