Self-check-in was easy and smooth, and the room was comfortable. Our family had a wonderful time. The kids were thrilled to stay somewhere different from home, and the unfamiliar surroundings made them excited. We don't usually have a TV at home, so being able to watch a Netflix movie my wife had wanted to see felt fresh and became a memory we treasure. By coincidence, a friend contacted us just as her alma mater was being shown on TV. We all got excited and said, "What perfect timing!" The "Okinawa Karate Hotel" concept is unique and interesting, and I think it captures the spirit of Okinawa. It's a lovely place for a family trip and a good base for exploring Okinawa. We had a great family stay here, especially sitting out on the terrace and taking in the night views from the hill in Tomigusuku. The kitchen and nearby supermarket made it easy to pick up groceries. Since there aren't many chances to go out for drinks in the south, we had dinner at a nearby izakaya, then grabbed some alcohol on the way back. Watching Netflix on the big screen with a beer in the room turned into a fantastic memory. Check-in was smooth and self-service, which suited us well since we value privacy.

I was surprised by how much the room changed my mind as soon as I walked in. It was clean, spacious, and had so much in it that it felt closer to my idea of a livable home than a hotel. There was a kitchen and washing machine for taking care of everyday things, plus a projector. With kids, it made the stay feel less like a hectic trip and more like a relaxed extension of daily life. There are some tradeoffs: check-in is unmanned, there are showers only, and you'll need a car. But we could stay comfortably and at our own pace without worrying about other people. If you're after full hotel service, this may not be the place. For a relaxed stay on your own terms, I think it's ideal. I'd definitely come back.

From our sixth-floor room, we watched the sunset colors spread across the sky above Okinawa Karate Kaikan. It was beautiful. The place felt less like a typical resort hotel and more like coming back to a private villa in Okinawa, somewhere to really unwind. We stayed with our two children, aged 0 and 7. They loved having two bedrooms and happily ran between them, enjoying a different setup from home. The ceiling projector added to that special, out-of-the-ordinary feeling for them. Check-in had no face-to-face counter, so we didn't feel rushed and could get settled at our own pace. That was convenient, and its distinct charm fit the room's modern atmosphere. If you want to get away from central Naha's bustle and relax, I highly recommend it.
