Yutouya Ryokan

Sitting around the Kotatsu (Japanese hot stove) and enjoying the Japanese garden was a special experience.

GOOD

The crab dinner was great.

The food keeps bringing me back every year. I’m incredibly satisfied with it, and there’s always so much delicious crab. Even a young man with a big appetite might not finish the generous portions. I still recommend coming for the truly delicious tagged crab, and I’ll definitely return next year. This visit, the facilities were the one disappointment. I came during a very cold, snowy spell, and the hallways were freezing. The heating hadn't been turned on by check-in, and my breath was visible in the room. Since they knew what time I was arriving, I wish they’d prepared a warm room. The air conditioning is old and doesn't work very well, so I’d like them to switch it on ahead of time. Maybe this was because I stayed in the main building. I’d appreciate it if they’d consider installing new air conditioning and heating. I understand it’s a historic building and don't expect the whole place to be heated, but at least the hallway next to the guest rooms shouldn't be so cold.
