I couldn't bring myself to sleep there, so I left the key at the front desk and went elsewhere. I'd already paid by card when I booked, and afterward I paid the full amount, which was expensive, to move to another hotel. The front desk was unattended when I left too. The room itself was alarming. There were lots of stains on the mat floor that looked like spilled drinks. The CRT TV was okay, but it was switched on with the input still set to video, which felt really strange. From the bed, a mirror across the hallway was visible if you lay facing right, making it hard to relax. The pillowcase had black stains and was noticeably yellowed. There was a chair just inside the entrance that seemed like part of a desk set, but the desk was placed at the far end of the room. Getting there wasn't reassuring either. The exterior looked like a ruin, the lobby was dark, and there was no one at reception or a doorbell. An older woman came out dressed as if she'd just stepped out of the bath. There didn't seem to be a guest register, so I had to write my details on the back of a calendar with a pencil about 7cm long. The elevator and hallway had no air conditioning. If you're on the fence about booking, take my word for it and cancel right away.
