UCHIKO-Inn KURA

We only stayed one night, but it became our favorite place of the whole Japan trip. The little yard was really cute, the bed was comfy, and breakfast was lovely. The staff member was so friendly, showed us around the area, and shared recommendations. We enjoyed it so much and would definitely come back if we visit uchiko again.

I'm on my fourth night of five at Kura, one of Uchi-cocoro's properties, and I really don't want to leave. Onishi san has been friendly, easy to reach, and super helpful with nearby restaurant suggestions. The location makes it easy to walk everywhere. Inside, everything feels considered, from the lighting and fresh flowers to the spacious rooms and inviting places to sit. There's a lovely little garden, a quiet atmosphere, and wood fragrance throughout. I especially love the comfortable bed and big puffy comforter, plus the gorgeous deep wooden bathtub. 10 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The innkeeper is a great local resource, almost like a concierge, and you can hire a taxi for trips out to the countryside. The location is handy for Uchiko's historical area, and the two units are similar, spacious, and have a modern take on traditional Japanese style. One thing to know: stairs are unavoidable. The living room, bath, and private toilet are downstairs, with the bedroom upstairs. Otherwise, a wonderful place to stay.
