The place was clean and the staff were helpful. For a one-night stay, the room quality and amenities were well worth the price!

There's not much around, so getting everywhere by car is inconvenient. The rooms are clean and roomy enough for one person, but a mysterious motor noise woke me before 6 AM, which was really unpleasant. No one is stationed at reception all the time, so getting a call to confirm check-in time is a hassle.

The room itself may be fine, but I had a very unpleasant stay because the hotel staff and reservation center kept giving conflicting answers. I booked on the understanding that there would be at least two pieces of bedding. The pre-booking details said one bed and two futons, but after I booked and arrived, they told me the futons cost extra. Four of the five room photos clearly showed one bed and two futons. When I asked if that was misleading, the hotel first claimed Booking.com had removed a fuller explanation. I said I'd check with Booking.com, and then they suddenly said it might have been their own reservation center after all. The answers kept changing. When I called the center, the first person agreed that the description meant one bed and two futons were included and said they'd look into it. The manager called back and said that the first person was new, and that futons were extra according to the “Operating Company: Amawari Hotel” section below the accommodation description. I asked if that was a strange place to put the information, since hardly anyone would look there. They just kept saying it was written there. The discussion eventually reached the point where Booking.com management and I were going to contact the Consumer Affairs Center about misleading advertising. Only then did they agree the futon details had been confusing and said the futons would be free this time and they'd improve things in future. I checked afterward, and the bedding count had changed to “one double bed.” I suspect they decided internally that the listing was confusing and changed it. The way the hotel staff and reservation manager brushed aside an obviously confusing explanation was awful. The staff generally didn't communicate well, and the reservation manager was overbearing. I won't stay at another hotel in this chain. If you do stay, be prepared for this sort of behavior if a problem comes up.
