The Stella Hamahiga

We were nine in all, seven adults and two children, staying for one night to enjoy some family time. The staff were helpful when we got in touch, and the room was very clean. There were plenty of amenities, including toothbrushes for the kids, and a powder room that I think women will especially appreciate. The kids had a blast with the slide, ball pit, swings, and blackboard. We could also BBQ on the terrace after bringing charcoal and food to prepare. We’d like to stay again!

I went in August and had a great time playing with the kids. There’s a beach nearby, and they had swings, trampolines, balls, and slides. On the way home, I drew a picture of Kitaro. My child said it would be a shame to erase it, so I left it there. Sorry about that. I’ll come again.

The design and interior are lovely, and the layout feels well thought out. Sunlight doesn’t come straight into the room, but it still gets plenty of light from the windows. There are two toilets, a powder room, and a kids’ room, along with four double beds for up to seven people. The kids’ room or sofa might work for extra sleepers, though I don’t know whether additional bedding is provided. We stayed about a week with three people, and it was very good value. Hamahiga Island isn’t a major tourist destination, which helps keep the price reasonable. The kitchen has lots of utensils for cooking your own meals. We enjoyed the terrace for BBQs and fireworks. The rice cooker is small and handles only 3 cups, so a larger group may need to cook twice. It’d be perfect if it were right by the sea.

With eight of us, there was plenty of room to spread out and relax. It felt like a big house, and the kids loved the slides, swings, and blackboard. The whole place had a secret hideout feel.
