Hotel Livemax Utsunomiya

¥4,248 for one night for two people felt like a good deal. The room had a microwave, TV, water heater, mini fridge, free WiFi, a table, desk and chairs. Towels, face towels, a hair dryer, slippers, hangers and pajamas were there too, along with plenty of tissues and toilet paper. The fridge had two mugs and two cups, and there were two more cups in the toilet. The shower, bath and toilet looked fairly clean, and soap, shampoo, conditioner and hand soap were provided. Toothbrushes, razors, body sponges and combs were available at the front desk on the second floor. The AC and air purifier worked fine. There was an ashtray in the room, so I assume smoking may be allowed, but ours didn't smell of smoke. My only real gripe was the lighting: just a lamp, and it left the room too dim.

For what it costs, it's pretty good. I don't really have anything to complain about.

It wasn't the horrible place I expected from what I'd read in the reviews. Fair enough for the price.

The room itself was comfortable and didn't smell of cigarettes, though the bathroom did. I could hear the neighbors coughing and sneezing clearly through the thin walls, and the place was simply dark. Still, it was cheap enough that I could live with those things, and I found it much more comfortable than an internet cafe. Service was better than the reviews had led me to expect. As checkout time approached, they contacted me and politely checked whether I wanted an extension.
