Family and Kids Pension White Clover

My wife and I stayed without meals because we were visiting Fuji Speedway. The innkeeper’s hospitality was wonderful. Our plan included tickets to a nearby hot spring, and the facility’s check-in time was coming up, so she suggested we head there first and leave the inn’s explanation for later. She also told us we could use the towels in our room, which helped a lot. We had a very warm, homey stay. There was no meal included this time, but I’d definitely like to book a plan with meals next time.

I visited this guesthouse a long time ago. It had a refined, upscale feel and seemed like a very nice place, but the steak at dinner is what stuck with me. They asked how I wanted it cooked, and I chose rare. The guests around me had similar cuts. I took one bite and stopped. The others seemed to react the same way, staring at their meat after tasting it. It had almost no flavor. I wanted salt, but there wasn’t any on the table, and in that elegant setting I couldn’t bring myself to ask the owner for it. The couple next to us got up to find the owner and tell him the meat tasted strange, but he wasn’t nearby for some reason. Their steak went cold and they didn’t eat it. A guesthouse with tasteless meat as its main dish is certainly memorable.

Meals here are delicious and so generous that you’ll need plenty of energy to finish them, so come hungry. It’s a great place for families. The owner’s three children play with you, which gives the stay a homey feel.

The room was on the small side, but the food was delicious.
