The staff were great, but they need more support from management. It's an old hotel with old-style boilers in each room, so you only get one tub of hot water. Once you've used it, you have to wait seven hours for more hot water. There is a shared open bath on the first floor. The room's air conditioning and heating units are old too. I had to ask to change rooms because mine wasn't working. The place needs a lot of upgrades, instead of leaving the staff to apologize all the time. And no rooms have a view of Mt Fuji, since another building blocks it.

The setting is lovely, right by the lake with Mount Fuji behind the hotel. My room felt much bigger than rooms in a typical Japanese hotel, perhaps because this is out in the countryside. There were enough amenities for a traveler too.

I wouldn't choose this place for another personal trip. The hotel feels very old, and the window in our room was broken. The bath was poor, not an onsen, and there was quite a bit of dirt floating on the water. The Japanese food looked the part but didn't taste like it. I suspect tour groups are given the poorer rooms to fit their budgets, but the condition still affected how I'd choose accommodation next time.

The room was much bigger than I expected, with plenty of room for a kid to run around. We were in the left corner on the fifth floor, facing the street and looking out at the lake, and the hotel view was amazing!!! Parking was free. Breakfast needed a reserved serving time, and that was the part I disliked. The public bath was closed due to COVID-19.

The onsen was good, and the hotel is in a very convenient spot. Our room at the back was huge and comfortable to use, though a few bits felt old, like the window screen.
