The owner was really friendly and went out of her way to look after us, so we had a very nice stay. The rooms are comfortable and stayed cool in summer even without AC. Most rooms have futons, so if you're not keen on those, it might be hard to find one with a bed.

The grocery store and brewery are close by, and the host is so friendly and kind. It’s a great place to stay, with everything you might need.

The owner was lovely and made us feel special. Communication in English was difficult, though.

There are only six rooms, and a very kind lady runs the place. She lent us bikes, arranged a bus back, and even gave us a small gift when we left. The shared baths include a small, convenient onsen. Lake Yamanaka may be less famous than Kawaguchi, but I think it’s prettier. The place used to be meant for a restaurant and bar, though it now operates only as a hotel.
