The breakfast on Agoda was described as excellent, but what I was served didn’t match that at all. Dinner was no better: I was told the kitchen had closed, so I never got a meal. The room had none of the personal items I expected, and nobody answered when I called reception. Only at checkout the next morning did the receptionist say they had “forgotten” them in another building. No one had mentioned that beforehand, which made it more frustrating. The mattress was awful. My wife and I both had back pain and barely slept. The kettle also needed a full 30 minutes to boil. I wouldn’t put too much faith in Agoda’s reviews, since my stay was nothing like what I expected.

The traditional Japanese dinner was included, and the food was really good. The room was huge and had everything you could want. The kettle was the one snag: it took about 30 minutes to boil, so keep that in mind if you’re leaving early and hoping for tea. For the price, what more can you expect?

I was there for the 2023 Mt. FUJI marathon and slept really well both nights. The equipment is old, but everything was clean and cozy. The staff are older and their English may not be very good, but you can tell they’re trying to do their best for you. It was a good stay.

The place is a little old, but it was clean, well prepared, and had all the equipment I needed. I was surprised to find a gymnasium there. I’d like to spend some time exercising next time I visit. Very good.
