Tsujun Sanso

The onsen is decent, and I’m glad it’s here since it’s the only one in the area. The sauna was really good and super hot, and the cold plunge was great. The hot baths themselves were ordinary, and the water didn’t smell strongly of chlorine, though there wasn’t anything special about its quality. The hotel was fantastic overall, with a lovely room and nice hallways. I much prefer the wood floors to carpet. Breakfast was fantastic too, and the staff were really friendly.

The rooms and baths were spacious and clean, and breakfast was quite tasty.

It made a good first impression. The hotel is clean and looks new, even though it’s 10 years old.

We had a great time in this very quiet place. We stayed in December; there was no snow, but the car froze overnight and it took us a while to get going in the morning. The building seems to be a renovated former national guesthouse, made entirely of wood, with a beautiful interior. Only one elevator was operating, and it was very old and creaky. It’s about a minute’s drive past Tsujunbashi Roadside Station, so watch for the sign at the entrance or exit or you could miss it. We used the one-year anniversary discount.
