Central Hotel Yasu

Yasu station is about a four-minute walk away, so getting around by public transport was quite flexible. From Kansai Airport, take the JR Haruka to Kyoto Station, then the Biwako Line toward Maibara. Rapid and Express trains also stop at Yasu Station. The fare is around 3000-4000 Yen. I stayed here for 25 nights on a business trip. Seyu is behind the hotel, about five minutes on foot. There's a Seven Eleven by Yasu Station, or about six minutes to the left of the lobby, and a Lawson six minutes behind the hotel. Kyocera and Omron are nearby. A 2000 yen Taxi can get you to Hirata and Murata. For some greenery, there's a riverside walk northwest of the hotel along Yasu River, heading toward Biwa lake, and a small mikami hill.

It's an older business hotel, but the room was very clean. My single room with breakfast was 8,700 yen per night, and it was a five-minute walk from the north exit of JR Yasu Station. The comforter was thin, but the electric blanket helped me sleep well. In the room there was a hair dryer, bath and hand towels, a shoehorn, and a TV. Toothbrushes, combs, and yukatas are kept by the first-floor elevator, so you need to take what you need. A kettle has to be borrowed from reception. Coffee is available in the lobby to take up to your room whenever you want. The cafe latte didn't seem to use milk, and I found the taste a bit disappointing. Breakfast starts at 6:30 only, so keep that in mind if you're heading out early.

There are outlets beside the bed and at the table. The mirror was a small standalone one, and the TV was fixed to the wall. I'd never come across a fridge like this before, and it didn't cool anything at all. I could park right in front of the hotel, but spaces are first come, first served. If they're all taken, you'll need to use a nearby parking lot.
