I was there with my small, well-behaved poodle, and this was easily the worst hotel I’ve stayed at. Room 2207 on the first night was very dirty, with lots of bugs and ants all over the floor. I asked to move the next day. In room 2210, there was a huge cockroach. The whole place felt dirty, with bugs and spider webs in the corridor. I wanted to leave, but couldn’t find another pet-friendly hotel for the rest of our stay. The service was bad too. Staff spoke no English and kept bothering me. On the first night, a man said I’d booked the annex and couldn’t park at the main building, even though its lot was almost empty. The annex parking is next to a cemetery, about a metre away, which made me very uncomfortable. When you open the room door, the first thing you see is graves. My dog never barks, and I kept him in a pet stroller inside the hotel boundary. On 5/10, a man approached us as we got back and said I had to cover the stroller completely so the dog couldn’t be seen. I asked what the online booking details said, and he showed me the pet accommodation agreement I’d signed, which didn’t say that. He didn’t speak English and kept using Google Translate, but its translations made no sense. There was a kitchen in the room but no cookware or kitchenware at all. I wish they’d focus on cleanliness instead of making a fuss with customers. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels, and this was definitely the worst.

We hesitated because there weren’t many reviews, but chose the place for its value and would consider staying again. It seemed popular with locals and foreigners living in Okinawa, and we saw several young U.S. military couples and families. Our family of five stayed in the annex, which is nearer the sea than the main building. There were two rooms with two twin beds in each, wide enough for us all to sleep comfortably, plus two bathrooms. One bathroom had an amazing ocean view. The hotel is right by the water, great for sand play and swimming, and snorkeling can turn up fish. The sun is extremely strong, though, so more shade or parasols would be welcome. There were a lot of bugs in the room, which cost the hotel quite a few points. I’d avoid leaving clothes or luggage on the floor. On site there’s a coin laundry with washing and drying, as well as a small fitness center. After dinner, the road back was poorly lit, so drive carefully at night. Parking was plentiful, and several shops and restaurants were about five minutes away by car. We found a great-value yakiniku restaurant and went twice. Staff spoke limited English but made a real effort to help. Requests we sent in English through the booking platform were usually handled within a few hours to a day.

Pretty comfortable, clean, and fairly quiet, with most of what you’d want in a hotel. The location was a little tricky, but with car navigation it shouldn’t be a problem.

The room smelled all the time, with kitchen odors and worse, and cleaning was poor. Noise came through the walls so badly that I couldn’t sleep, and frequent events added to the noise. The worst part was the manager calling the police on us. Reception had clearly said that morning we could collect our bags at 4 PM. When we came back, the manager suddenly insisted we pay for two nights instead of one, accused us of lying, and wouldn’t discuss it. They called the police, and six officers ended up surrounding us. We felt humiliated and completely disrespected, all over what seemed to us an unprofessional response. A terrible stay, with awful management and a very unpleasant atmosphere. I strongly advise avoiding this hotel.

The view from the balcony was worth the price on its own. The annex sits right by the beach, and every room faces the sea. Our apartment was roomy, with two full bedrooms and two bathrooms with toilets. One bathroom was ensuite; the other was across the hall. We could have shared the place with another couple and split the cost, so it felt like good value. We ate lunch and dinner at the on-site restaurant a couple of times, and both were excellent. We skipped breakfast. There’s also a gym, spa, coin laundry, and wedding chapel, with couples often taking wedding photos on the beach. Yomitan has lots of good restaurants too. Getting down to the beach wasn’t very easy. My wife has a slight disability and found the access difficult. Still, when we visit Okinawa again, we’ll rent this place again without hesitation. I highly recommend the Lazor Seaside Resort.
