The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the flowing onsen felt so soothing. The view was great too. I stayed in Ranchu and enjoyed everything. Many thanks to the friendly staff, I had a great time!

The service here was the worst I’ve experienced among the hotels and ryokans I tried in Fukuoka, and the price made that especially disappointing. I travel to many countries, and this place showed unbelievably poor customer service. I used to think Japan was a polite place, but this experience changed that impression. I won’t visit Fukuoka again, and I have no plans to return to this ryokan.

The view from our window was like a picture, with Mt. Yufu and the red train passing below. We were also upgraded because a room had opened up that day, which made for a luxurious stay. The owner’s taste showed in the lovely interior, and the bath linked the indoor and outdoor areas, a great way to ease the tiredness from our long trip. The staff were friendly and the service was impeccable. We’ve stayed in many hotels, and this would be in our top three. We’re grateful to the owners. I don’t usually write reviews, but I was still thinking about the stay three months later, so I decided to share it.
