Dinner and breakfast were delicious, with generous portions in every course. I thought the stay was worth the price, especially with both indoor and outdoor onsen baths, and the outdoor view made soaking even more relaxing. I chose a classic Japanese-style room because I wanted a traditional ryokan experience, and it felt like the right choice. The place has lots of room types and is quite large. Staff were attentive and helpful, and they laid out the futon in the evening. The down comforter kept me cozy all night, even though I'd worried about being cold. Wearing a yukata around the hotel was cute and made the ryokan atmosphere feel complete. A peaceful, authentic-style stay I'd recommend.

We liked having the two outdoor baths and a pool for the kids. Our Japanese-style room came with turndown service, and they served meals on our schedule. It's close to the bus terminal and quite English-friendly thanks to the foreign staff. Just keep in mind it's a hotel and ryokan blend, rather than a strictly traditional ryokan.

The place seemed quiet, and the room for our family of five adults and one child was fairly large, with a bath and a toilet. We also got welcome drinks and a few snacks. There was one public onsen for men and one for women, but no private bath.

It's near Yufuin station. The ryokan has Japanese-style rooms and nice indoor and outdoor onsens. Reception could speak a little English, and communication went best that way.

Dinner and breakfast were fantastic, with lots of different things to try, and almost everything was delicious. The spacious Japanese-Western room came with a full set of amenities, though some of the furniture was a bit old and dirty from the hotel's age. The location is good, about 300 m from Yufuin station, and you can walk to Lake Kinrin too. Staff can call a taxi if you ask, and they'll store your luggage before check-in or after checkout.
