YUFUIN YUKARI AN - Vacation STAY 87997

The indoor and outdoor hot springs were both really comfortable. The indoor bath is on the small side, but the outdoor one is roomy and relaxing. We were four adults at Yukari-an in early February. It has the feel of Nobita's house, with mostly Japanese-style rooms and sliding doors. We had two spacious rooms, one tatami room downstairs and another upstairs. The place had heating on when we arrived, and the lights work by remote. Check-in is done on an iPad in the kitchen. There’s a refrigerator, microwave, washing machine, and a large rack for clothes. One thing to know is that the toilet, bathroom, and hot spring area are some distance from the rooms, so you have to walk around to wash up. The corridors were cold in winter since they aren’t heated. Be careful with the hairdryer, as it can trip the power. If that happens, open the panel above the kitchen door and switch everything back to red, meaning on, even if you aren’t using all the rooms. There are instructions in the kitchen too. Remember to turn the water heater back on afterward. We had an excellent stay, and I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a traditional Japanese-style visit to Yufuin.

We were ten people from three related families, and there were enough rooms for everyone to spread out and relax. Since it’s a little away from the tourist spots, it was quiet and we could enjoy having our own space. It was easy to stay with small children without worrying about them. With a kitchen and bathroom, it felt almost like living there. Thank you!

I was after a spacious room at a good price, so I was willing to compromise on cleanliness. A rental car is a must, and there don’t seem to be many good restaurants nearby. I love the 80s vibe, though. If you want lots of space, I’d recommend it.

You get a whole standalone house with a guesthouse feel, and it’s self-service. The entry code comes by email, with a check-in notification on the day, so you’ll need internet access. It’s out on country roads, which makes driving the easiest way to get there. The room has what you need, and you can cook in the kitchen. Two things to keep in mind: the breaker is only 20A, so you can’t run every appliance at once without risking a trip. Also, the rooms and living room have their own heating, but the hallways and stairs are cold. Still, good value for money. Just sharing for reference!
