My room was comfortable and clean, and the setup downstairs worked really well for skiing, with a rental shop and ski lockers. I also appreciated being able to use the bathhouse after checking out and finishing my ski day. I really enjoyed staying here.

The mountain and railway views from the room were nice. The hot springs are indoors only, with no outdoor baths. The hotel sits up a slope, so walking from the station takes a while, though there’s a shuttle in both directions. We stayed two nights with two friends in January 2020. The room was okay for three, and dinner was included. Meals were a mix of hits and misses, but at peak winter rates around Yuzawa it was still a very good deal and one of the more affordable options.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and the hotel shuttle runs to both the ski slopes and JR station. Having a ski shop right inside the hotel was really convenient.

Getting to the ski resorts or Echigo Yuzawa JR station was easy, with lots of shuttle buses from the hotel. Snow sports equipment rental is nearby, too. It’s a warm, comfortable onsen hotel with kind, attentive service.

The location is handy, about a seven-minute walk from the train station, and they also run a free shuttle there. Our Japanese-style room worked really well for four people. The toilet and shower room, with two washstands, had been renovated and felt new. The restaurant has also been redone and looks modern and nice. French toast at breakfast was excellent. There’s a washing machine in the spa area that’s easy to use.
