We visited in September 2025, and this is the place to safari. The luxurious tents, animals, great guides, wonderful food, and people made it special. Everyone is committed to giving you the best experience, and it’s fun to discover their little surprises during your stay. I’m pretty sure this place can’t be beat anywhere. Mara North conservancy borders Masai Mara, so animals move between the areas. Unlike Masai Mara, you can drive off path, and there are few jeeps. We went into Maisa Mara for a day with our guide, as planned before the trip, and had a blast. It also showed how impressive Mara North is: the animals are dense and you can get close to them. If you want a safari that exceeds expectations, Kicheche Mara North is the place.

Several animals roam around camp at night, and on our last evening we were thrilled to spot the “house” hippo on the walk back to our tent. We had a fantastic three days at Kicheche Mara Camp. Our Family tent was comfortable and well appointed, with two bedrooms, a sitting room, and two bathrooms. The showers were great after long game drives. Staff were friendly and welcoming, so we felt at home right away. The food was excellent, including beef wellington and cheese soufflee, which I hadn’t expected on safari. Our kids, 11 and 13, are tough to please and gave it 10 out of 10.

My wife and I were celebrating Christmas with our daughter and granddaughter, who live in Nairobi, and spent two nights at Kicheche Camps. It was unforgettable. From arrival, the whole team greeted us warmly and professionally, going above and beyond to make the stay extraordinary. I don’t usually write reviews because I prefer a private profile and don’t use social media, but this experience was an exception. The luxurious tents were thoughtfully designed and very comfortable, balancing luxury with a close connection to nature. Service was impeccable, with personal attention at meals and expert guidance on our safari trips. The staff knew the local wildlife well and showed a genuine passion for conservation, making the safari especially memorable. Every detail was handled with care, so we could relax and enjoy the beautiful Mara surroundings. Heartfelt thanks to everyone at Kicheche Camps. We highly recommend it and hope to return.

I used to wonder why people came back to the same safari camp again and again. Now I understand. Every day brings different wildlife and stories, and Kicheche Mara North makes each visit feel personal and exciting. We specifically asked for Vincent again because he made our last trip so joyful, fun, and full of knowledge. The camp itself is far better than its three-star rating suggests. Our tent felt luxurious, the bed was comfortable, there was plenty of hot water, and the service matched resorts I’ve stayed at. The staff were wonderful throughout, especially Makena and Charles, who made us feel like family. I was sick for part of our stay, and everyone checked on me often, brought special meals, and did what they could to help me feel comfortable. They also handled my husband's long list of food requests and exceptions with patience and a smile every time. I’m so grateful for how thoughtful and sincere the whole team was. We can’t wait to return.

The wildlife conservation work here is easy to see and really admirable, and the guides are all ‘Silver’ guides, which is a real difference from other camps. We also went out on safari with a breakfast picnic each morning, which was a big plus. The food stood out too, with a menu that changed daily and was far above what we’ve had at most safari camps. The rooms are spacious and very luxurious, and the staff are fantastically friendly. It’s an amazing camp and worth the semi-premium price. Kicheche camps are the best!
