The views were breathtaking, the food delicious, and the massage was the cherry on top. From beginning to end, it felt like a dream stay. Everyone was kind, helpful, and nice, and I felt safe the whole time. I really recommend taking the walk around the camp to see the grounds and surrounding areas.

This was the most expensive stay of our trip, but also the worst experience. The only thing I enjoyed was the view from the common room, and you can get a similar hilltop view at any camp. The amenities were lacking: no water pressure, no hot water in the morning, and a toilet that wouldn't flush. The walk to our tent was along a very muddy road. The camp isn't in the national park. You leave the gate and then take a long, awful road to get there. Their so-called night safari was just a short drive down and back up the same hill, in a protected area outside the safari. There were civilian motorcycles and farms with cows being herded on the road. What a disappointment and waste of time.

James, the Chef, and everyone else did their best to make our stay memorable. Kilima is a spectacular, well-organized camp, and the service was incredible. The team was accommodating and exceeded what we expected. We'd happily recommend it and hope to stay again.

The view is sensational, the tents are lovely, and Carin is the absolute best, so sweet. But the hospitality overall was lacking, and we couldn't wait to leave. I travel often, including in Africa, and I've never had an experience like this. We told them about our food allergies on the client survey, but they still tried to serve us food we were allergic to. There wasn't much variety either, the same meal every morning and pasta at every meal. The horseback ride cost extra, and our guide didn't speak to us at all or explain any safety points. My sister had never ridden in an English saddle before. We also paid extra for an expensive night game drive. It started pouring right away, so we asked to try again the following night. The guides were pushy and insisted we continue. With rain coming down so hard, they had to put the flaps down. They said we'd go back and try again tomorrow, but at the last minute decided we should stay out in the weather. The whole drive was spent stuck in mud or putting the flaps up and down to deal with the torrential rain. We know the weather can't be controlled, but it was uncomfortable, and we asked several times to go back. We'd been told the drive would last 3-4 hours, but it lasted only 1 hour and 40 minutes, nowhere near worth the money. Then they sent us to our tent without even offering us a drink. We also paid extra for a bubble bath. It wasn't listed as a charge on the spa menu, so we thought it was complimentary. We only found out it wasn't when we checked out.
