The carwash beside the premises is handy if you're traveling by road, and the small bar and restaurant are enough for a quick meal or a drink after a long day. Denniz Hotel is also clean and comfortable, with genuinely friendly, attentive staff. Sharon, Shiko, Ndung'u, and Gloria stood out, as did the other staff whose names I didn't catch. It can get a little noisy because of the location, but the comfort and service make up for that. A good-value place to stay in Bungoma.

I live in England and came back to visit home in Kenya. When I first booked a room at Denniz Hotel, I was impressed by the international standard it had reached. The rooms were spacious, clean, and affordable. But I came back eight months later with high expectations and was seriously disappointed. The hotel's former glow was gone: my room's toilet didn't work, the TV had no remote so I couldn't use it, the staff seemed bored, and the restaurant food was poorly cooked and presented.

The basic room is comfortable for the price and very clean, so it's a good budget option. Road noise comes through during the day, roughly from 6 am to 8 pm, but the place stays quiet all night. I'd recommend it for budget accommodation.

The hotel and cafe are nice and affordable. They need professional receptionists, though. The receptionists I encountered had a lot of attitude.
