Maisha Marefu Luxury Villa

We spent a wonderful stay at the villa Maisha Marefu in Diani Beach, Kenya, and our family of six would love to return. We wanted a peaceful break, and this Airbnb gave us a mix of rest, adventure, and cultural experiences that we’ll remember for a long time. It felt luxurious and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The villa has spacious bedrooms and open living areas that worked well for relaxing and spending time together. We especially loved the terrace and private pool overlooking the ocean, where we watched beautiful sunsets and starry evenings. The ocean view and lush greenery around the villa made the setting feel calm and helped us leave our stress behind. Sammy, our private cook, was a highlight. He made every meal feel special, from Kenyan dishes to international food, and was warm, attentive, and skilled. He took care with both the flavors and presentation. Ali also made our outings memorable as our tour guide. He knows Diani Beach and the surrounding attractions well and planned excursions to places like the coral reefs for snorkeling and the Shimba Hills. The attentive staff went out of their way to look after us. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool, eating Sammy’s meals, and exploring the area. We can’t recommend the Airbnb highly enough and hope to return for another memorable holiday.

Maisha Marefu is a fantastic villa in a quiet, private spot on the north side of the Diani Beach strip. It’s spacious and airy, with well-proportioned rooms and ocean views from the upstairs gallery seating area. Sammy is the heart of the place. He’s kind and cheerful, cooks brilliantly, and gave us first-class service. The four of us told him each day what we wanted the next day, then he sourced the ingredients and made excellent meals. Evelyn, who cleaned, and Saidi, who cared for the pool and garden, were also attentive and very pleasant. Sammy arranged a tour guide to come to the villa when we asked, so we could choose a safari. It was handled efficiently and at a very fair price, and I’d recommend doing it. He also arranged Leena to come for a massage. She’s a true professional with amazing skill, and her massages were unlike anything I’ve experienced anywhere in the world. I can’t speak highly enough of Maisha Marefu and recommend it to travelers, families, groups, and couples.

We had a lovely stay, short and sweet for the week. The chef made great food, and I enjoyed the pool and the ocean breeze all day. The villa is just a few meters from the beach.
