The breakfast was good, and the facility itself is beautiful, but this was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. I felt more unwanted here than anywhere else. The service was horrendous, and aside from a few people, the staff seemed unsuited to working in hospitality. It felt as if the owners had left the place to people who didn’t care whether it went under. Such a shame, because this was an expensive disappointment. Before booking, we were told we could swim on the beach in front of the hotel. Instead, we found coral and lots of sea urchins, and had to walk along the beach to find somewhere to swim. The beach photos are misleading. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who cares about comfort, peace of mind or relaxation. Be prepared to pay a premium for a handful of fries. For the price, you’d be better off in a hostel with high school rules and regulations. A terrible experience for me and my family.

We stayed at Swahili beach for four nights between Christmas and New Year in December 2025, and the New Year’s Eve celebration was the icing on the cake. The team worked so hard on the lights, dinner, band, music, DJ, fireworks and personalized table settings. It’s an NYE we won’t forget. We appreciated everyone who made it special, from the lobby, restaurants, bars and poolside to the chefs, housekeepers and servers. The night before NYE, we were also given handmade gifts and handwritten notes to take home, such a lovely touch. We were greeted with warmth and smiles from check-in onward, and every staff member was friendly and helpful. Our executive room was luxurious, with a super king bed, huge living room, balcony, rainfall shower, robes and two toilets. We loved our days by the pool and evenings in the different restaurants. I highly recommend the couples aromatherapy massage at the spa. We went out to try another local beach and restaurant one day, but came back after an hour because the service there wasn’t the same and we didn’t feel as welcome. If you want to unwind, rest and recharge, and feel pampered and well looked after, this is a lovely place.

I’ve been to this resort twice, and both stays were great. The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. There are lots of dinner choices and different places to eat around the resort during the day. The rooms are gorgeous, and there’s a spa on site, plus activities like group beach walks and light stretching classes. A shopping centre with a Carrefour is across the street, within walking distance. I’ll be back and highly recommend Swahili Beach.

The service really stood out. The staff were attentive to every detail and genuinely cared for each guest. Special thanks to Sila, the head waiter manager, and to Adam, Stevie, and Abdallah for their professionalism, constant smiles and wonderful service. We spent a week here as a couple and had a wonderful holiday. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained, with lots of pools, a stunning beach and a relaxing, luxurious feel. The food was excellent, with a wide range of delicious restaurants included in both half-board and full-board options. The spa was fantastic and made the stay feel even more indulgent. We’d happily return and highly recommend the resort.

Chikoza was a bright spot in our stay. He made excellent espressos and cappuccinos and was a five-star barista. The grounds are lovely and the staff are friendly, but the resort sets the expectation of a five-star stay without delivering it. The food wasn’t great, and a lot of it tasted the same. Our first room was very tired and badly in need of renovation. The floor was dirty, with cracks and gaps in the original material that held dirt, and there were black shoe marks on the benches. There was nowhere to hang clothes or towels in the bathroom, or wet swimsuits on the balcony. The ceiling fan was very loud. During evening turndown they spray the rooms with bleach as insect repellent, and only two bottles of water are provided per room each day. If you want quiet, avoid weekends: they play loud music until midnight each night. Staff are very nice and say yes to almost everything, but requests take ages and you may or may not get what you asked for. Better leadership and more training in five-star hospitality could help this resort.
