Simba + Oryx Beach Cottages

Simba Oryx feels like a home away from home. The staff are so friendly that they feel like family, and Elizabeth, the manager, has done a fantastic job running the place for years. She’s welcoming and accommodating, a real asset. Rachel at the cafeteria greets guests so warmly, too. The peaceful grounds are a great escape from a busy life. The rooms are spotless, and the cottages have an authentic Swahili style that gives you a real sense of African living. Lawrence is a super cool chef and one of the best in town. You can ask him to make anything, and he’ll turn out a delicious meal with a smile and great service. The food is excellent, and it’s a real jewel of Diani, with great people, service, and beach and ocean. Kite Motion also offers guests kite surfing lessons, which is a great way to learn. When I travel to Kenya with teams for work, we like to finish our trips here and rest. The cottage staff are lovely and take good care of guests. There’s plenty to see around the property, including wildlife, and from the front patio of the easternmost cottages you can watch the ocean.

We had a comfortable stay from July 3 to 7 at Simbe Oryx Beach Cottages in Diani. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, and the rooms were kept clean and in good shape. It’s peaceful, with direct access to the beach just steps from the cottages, and a clean pool for relaxing away from the city. The rates offer good value for both local and international guests. I’d recommend Simbe Oryx to anyone after a quiet escape in Diani.

We had a great family holiday here. The rooms were neat and clean, the cottage service was good, and the staff were very cooperative. The cottage is right by the beach, which was clean too.
