A lovely, quiet place to stay and unwind, with really friendly staff. It's a beautiful camp, with tents as well as room to pitch your own. We arrived late, but the owners were waiting and welcomed us warmly. They'd even made something for dinner in case we needed it. We slept in a tent. The bed was comfortable and there was a private shower with hot water, though the water pressure wasn't great. There's no mosquito net. Breakfast was good, just toast and eggs.

Lucy took such generous care of us at Cactus Eco Camp. The two meals she made were delicious and ready right when we asked. It's nice accommodation and good value, and the camp is just a short walk from the entrance to the KWS sanctuary, where we saw thousands of flamingos. A great place to stay when visiting Lake Elementaita.

We came across this place by chance and fell for its simple, special feel. Lucy was a great host, cooking us a delicious meal even though we hadn't booked ahead and helping with our questions. The national park entrance is right next door, and there are flamingos. Our room was basic, and insects don't bother you here, but the bed had a mosquito net. The garden is beautiful. I'd recommend it if you're on a budget.

Lucy was the highlight of our stay, and Dan was also kind and helpful. We're one vegetarian and one vegan, and Lucy looked after us so well. We finally got to try homemade Kenyan vegetable food. Lunch and dinner were very reasonably priced compared with some other camps we stayed at. We only booked one night while travelling from Nakuru to Nairobi, but the location was so beautiful that we would've stayed longer if we'd known. Our double room had an ensuite and a porch where we could read or watch monkeys and birds. The camp was so peaceful. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely return.

Their camping setup is great for backpackers too. I really liked it.
