The way the team handled the flooding is what I’ll remember most. Intense rain began the night before we were due to leave, flooding areas across Masai Mara. The staff made sure everyone was safe and coordinated with several other camps so we could reach the air strip on time. After our first attempt failed, they welcomed us back and escorted us alongside the other camp, so we had a familiar face with us for the whole journey. I can’t express how grateful I am for their care. We spent six nights at Olare Kempinski, and the 12 tent camp lacked nothing. Tents, amenities, food, staff, service, animals, our guide, all exceptional. The chef accommodated my food intolerance, and the food and beverage staff learned our habits and preferences. Their training, attentiveness, and warmth are hard to find. On our last night, a drive ended with a roaring lion at sunset. The safari was everything I’d dreamed of, and I came away with hundreds of photos and memories of an adventure. I highly recommend Olare Kempinski. Thank you!

David, our driver and safari guide, made every drive special. He was always smiling, kept spotting magnificent animals, and did all he could to show us what the Masai Mara has to offer. Dominic, the camp manager, knows the area inside out and was quick to arrange whatever we asked for, making sure it arrived when we needed it. We were looked after like family throughout our stay at Kempinski Masai Mara. Mr. Livingstone was so kind when serving dinner and drinks, and the chef even made us a customized meal at night. Everything we needed was close at hand. I’d give Kempinski Masai Mara a perfect 10/10 and can’t wait to come back during migration season. I’d advise against booking local safaris, as they may spoil the experience. Choose an experienced luxury camp that won’t waste your time and will help make sure you see what you came for. Thank you all for making the trip so lovely. Love, Fara.

Martin was the highlight for me. He took me all around the conservancy and let me spend as much time as I wanted with lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and more. He was tireless, friendly, and so knowledgeable. He made my stay far better than I expected. The camp itself is lovely. My permanent tent was great, room service was excellent, and I had everything I needed. The chef and my waiter, Teddy, were wonderful, and Dominick was open and welcoming, checking in often. Linet also gave me a perfect massage. Heaven :) There may be a couple of more upscale camps in the area, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Olare Kempinski. Thanks to everyone for a fantastic time in the Mara.

The camp experience at Kempinski was warm and wonderful. From the welcome drive with David to Dominic, the Operations Manager, Restaurant Attendant Eric, Room Attendant Peter, and even the night guards, everyone we met felt genuinely caring. Apart from the driver, everything was fine. Our assigned game driver, ERIC, was moody, uptight, and not very friendly. Compared with drivers from other Olare Mare conservancy camps, he seemed short on social skills. Since you spend around 80% of your time in game drives, having someone friendly matters a lot. I noticed the issue on day one but regret not raising it with Dominic, the property Manager, or asking for a different driver. I hoped Eric would warm up, but he didn’t. I had brought my parents, and they wouldn’t ask him questions because they worried he might snap back, so they asked me to speak to him instead. A driver can really make or break a game reserve holiday.

The camp struck a lovely balance between comfort and safari atmosphere. The tents were clean and well kept, and wildlife right outside made it easy to feel close to nature without giving up comfort. Meals were delicious, and sometimes we got to eat outdoors or by the campfire. What made Olare Mara unforgettable was the people. The team's warmth and care felt personal from the start, while still being professional. David brought so much passion and knowledge to each safari drive. Eric and Kevin were attentive and friendly, always ready for a good conversation. Dominic did a great job managing the camp, greeting everyone with a smile and making sure nobody was missing anything. The conservancy is a wonderful place to see wildlife, and our safari itself was breathtaking. Olare Mara deserves more than five stars. This trip will stay among our most memorable experiences, and we’ll keep the place in our hearts.
