Silver Palm Spa and Resort

For a taste of the coast, the grilled red snapper at Forodhani Bar & Restaurant is a lovely choice, served with spring onions, capers, micro herbs, a little horseradish, and crème fraîche. The setting along Bofa Road in Kilifi feels personal, and this family-owned retreat opened in April 2017 with 38 rooms. Local artistry is part of the place: every room has original work by a Kenyan painter, alongside custom furniture made by Kilifi carpenters and chosen by the owners to support the community. Natural materials, airy layouts, and private living spaces give the design a sustainable feel and make it feel like a home away from home. Kilifi itself is a calm coastal town, with white sand beaches, quiet waters in Kilifi Creek, and traditional dhow sails passing by. Swahili and Mijikenda heritage can be felt in the background, while mangroves, ancient ruins, and the relaxed pace of coastal life invite unhurried exploring.

The beach restaurant lunch was really good, though service took a while and the cocktails weren't great. I loved my spa visit, Esther was amazing!

The food was a highlight for me, especially the pizza and lobster. I also loved how some rooms open straight onto the pool through a back door, and the pool itself is striking. The spa feels peaceful, and even the gym has a luxurious feel. Silver Palm sits on Bofa beach, with the sound of the waves and a cool breeze all around. The lawns and flowers are beautifully kept. It feels like a coastal escape where comfort, scenery, and good food come together.

The rooms were the best part for me, and the beach was clean and private. It’s a beautiful hotel with wonderful staff and incredible food.
